Does anybody know why the coastguard light is no longer on at night? It's been off now for about a fortnight.

Given the helicopter disaster that occurred in London a few weeks ago it might be worth you contacting the local Maritime & Coast Guard Agency Office in Dover to make sure they know about the problem - 01304 208509.

Let's hope that the 2 guys who spent most of the day up the radio mast have changed the light bulb while they were there (see photo)!

Yes, fingers crossed eh? I really miss the light, although over the last couple of years the gorse has got so tall that probably by next year I wont be able to see it from my sitting room anyway!
